Venue

The LSC is being held on the campus and in the lecture rooms of the University of Dresden on Fritz-Förster-Platz, close to the main station.

The centre of events is the university lecture hall centre HSZ (Bergstraße 64, 01069 Dresden). Here you can find:

  • the stalls (admin desk, food stalls, sales and information stalls)
  • the main lecture hall (Audimax), where the plenums and part of the evening programme (stage programme) will take place
  • functional and seminar rooms

Most of the day-programme will take place in the von-Gerber building (Bergstr. 53) and in the Willers building (Zellescher Weg 12-14). Join us in the Old Refectory (Alte Mensa, Mommsenstr. 13) for dancing and a late night chill-out.
All the buildings are within a few minutes walking distance of each other.

Registration

Those arriving on Friday can register from 6pm to 9.30pm in the lecture hall centre; during the entire LSC registration is also possible at the ticket desks.

Arrival and Parking

Getting to the campus (Bergstraße 64) by car or motorcycle:
Via A4 from the west:

  • Exit 77b – Interchange Dresden-West: change onto A17 towards Prague,
  • take exit 3 – Dresden-Südvorstadt – towards Dresden Stadtzentrum
  • after about 1,5 kilometres: turn left from Bergstraße into Mommsenstraße
  • Parking on the campus should not be a problem for the duration of the LSC
  • The lecture hall centre (HSZ) is the main venue of this year´s LSC and is situated on the left of Bergstraße.

Via A13 or A4 from the north and east:

  • Take A4 exit 81a Dresden Nord and turn onto B170 towards Zentrum.
  • Stay on B170 all the way through the city.
  • Pass Dresden-Neustadt train station; continue towards Zentrum/Altstadt, cross the river, pass the main station.
  • On your left you will see the Russian-Orthodox church.
  • Take the left fork (Bergstraße) and cross Zellescher Weg/Nürnberger Straße.
  • You will see the HSZ on the right-hand side, just behind the crossroads.
  • Parking is to the right, behind the HSZ.

Getting to the campus (Bergstraße 64) by train:
From Dresden main station, take a number 3 tram to Coschütz or a number 8 tram to Südvorstadt. Get off at Nürnberger Platz.
Alternatively, take a number 72 bus to Coschütz/Gittersee or a number 76 bus to Mockritz. Get off at Technische Universität/Fritz-Förster-Platz.
There will be signs (with "LFT" or "HSZ") directing you from the bus/tram stops to the lecture hall center.

Accommodation

This year, accomodation is also available in gyms (cost: 5 € per night). These are located approximately 1 mile (1.5 km) from the venue. Further information will be available from the information desk. Those who sleep in a gym are responsible for organising their own security measures.
