We invite you very kindly to join us at our Lesbian Spring Meeting (Lesben-Frühlings-Treffen) in Rostock from 10/06/2011 to 13/06/2011. Our motto this year is "Around the Baltic Sea".
We want to spend the bank holiday Whit weekend 2011 together with many other lesbians from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia - and from everywhere in the world. We hope we can arouse your curiosity and political interest; we hope you are hungry for discussions, dancing and celebrations. Contribute to the programme with a workshop or performance of your own! Sell your own hand-made products and works of art in the market! Or simply enjoy the opportunity to meet many other lesbians and to get into conversation with them!
The Lesben-Frühlings-Treffen (LFT) is the major event for lesbian and feminine political dialogue in Germany today. The first official LFT - until 1992 it was called the Lesbian Whit Meeting - was held in Berlin in 1974. Since 1979 it has been organised by and held in a different town or city each year. The event reveals the wide diversity of lesbian lives. We are everywhere, and we are many! The get-together is organised and run by lesbians for lesbians and with lesbians for four days every year. It is completely accessible for handicapped visitors and has been of vital significance for the lesbian movement for a great number of years.
We welcome young and old lesbians, with and without handicaps, with diverse and differing abilities, immigrants and ex-pats, poor and rich, and XS to XXXXL lesbians. Our lives encompass all aspects of what it means to be a woman. And we want to be seen! We will demonstrate our political views to other people on our traditional annual peaceful march through the city.
Our political dialogues and cultural events offer something for 'everywoman'. You can exchange your views and ideas in political workshops. And the evening programme offers a variety of cultural performances such as theatre, cabaret, music and dancing.
